Harry Styles started his career with his fellow bandmates from One Direction (Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson) on the X Factor in 2010. One Direction was a big part of his career but they separated in 2015 after making five albums together.

Harry Styles debuted his self-titled first solo album in 2017 with a hit single, Sign of the Times. In 2019 he released his sophomore album, Fine Line. Towards the end of 2021 he was touring North America with singer and songwriter Jenny Lewis. Many people who attended the shows did not know who she was since she was a smaller artist, but thanks to Styles, she received more recognition as well as a larger following. Styles had multiple viral singles, one being, Adore You. He later won a Grammy in 2021 for best pop solo performance, Watermelon Sugar, awarded #1 on Billboard Hot 100 with millions of streams.

Recently, the pop star released his 3rd album and fans were not disappointed. His chart-topping single for the album As it Was, broke multiple Spotify records. A few weeks after he dropped the single in April, he headlined Coachella for two weekends and performed two more songs off the album before it was released. He performed Boyfriends and Late Night Talking, and fans went crazy.

Many Hereford students support Styles as he influences them to embrace who they want to be.

“He’s not afraid to be himself and inspires me to wear things out of my comfort zone,” Lizzie O’Reilly (‘23) said.

Styles has also been pursuing an acting career since his debut movie Dunkirk came out in 2017. He appeared in a Marvel movie, The Eternals, as Thanos’ brother Ethos in Nov. 2021. He will appear in two other movies in 2022 named, Don’t Worry Darling, and My Policeman.

In Nov. of 2021 he launched his brand, Pleasing. It features nail polish, skin care, and apparel like sweatshirts and tee-shirts. Styles will go on tour in the summer of 2022 in Europe. In the fall of 2022, he will also perform in Canada, New York, Texas, Chicago, and California. Additionally he is going to help promote artists like Blood Orange, Ben Harper, Madi Diaz, and Jessie Ware by letting them open his shows. Styles will have merchandise at his shows and on his website during his tour.
